35 Shopping Days

I decided what I want for Christmas: The Complete New Yorker, which includes every issue from February 1925-February 2005. Which is a lot of New Yorker. Probably a lot of crap in there, but I've been trying to read "Hapworth 16, 1924" by J.D. Salinger (published in the June 19, 1965 issue) forever. I never could sit in the library with the bound copies of the New Yorker long enough to do it. I'm not as obsessive a Salinger fan as some, but I'm not above asking someone else to drop a few bucks on my minor obsession. I like Dorothy Parker too. She wrote some clever stuff about girls who wear glasses. And anyway, they've dropped $30 from the price. It's totally a bargain.
