Oh, teaching, how I miss thee

I love Slate, the on-line journal (which, it turns out, was started by Michael Kinsley, late of CNN's Crossfire, which my mom always liked), and this week is College Week. Some interesting articles have been posted which have made me terribly nostalgic for teaching and which might be of general interest, including one on Rate My Professors and this week-long journal by an untenured professor (which is actually from 1999) who has trouble finishing grading papers by the time she (or he? it's anonymous) says he/she will and offers, to his/her immediate regret, to meet the students one-on-one instead. Sounds familiar.
