Sad

Richard Pryor died. He was crazy, and funny, and I always liked The Toy.

Eugene McCarthy died too, and I read the article in the NYTimes out of some sort of weary obligation to know about politicians as well as entertainers, but it ended up making me just as sad. I can't help missing a politician who recited Yeats on the stump, abhorred the 2-party system and said, "We do not need presidents who are bigger than the country, but rather ones who speak for it and support it."
